ABOUT YOUR COACH

Mike Muratore — the guy clubs call when they want the room destroyed.

Mike is one of the best comedians working in Los Angeles. Mike has earned the moniker of “The Serial Killer of Comedy” with his brand of raw, in-your-face, no holds barred comedy. His act has been honed in the worst venues possible for comedy over the past 20 years. Playing terrible venues has turned Mike into one of the best comedians performing today. Will you be offended? Yes. Will you be scared? Probably. Will you laugh? Definitely.

Here is what you can expect:

  • Real-time breakdowns of your crowd work and riffing instincts
  • Honest notes from a working comic, not a classroom lecturer
  • Focused on getting you more kill shots per minute onstage

Format: 1:1 sessions via Zoom or in-person in LA* (when available). Bring clips, bits, or just questions—and we go to work.

*In-person is $10 extra per hour

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

From crowd work chaos to a controlled kill.

Each session is tailored to you—but these are the knives we sharpen most.

Brutal crowd work reps

Learn how to:

  • Open with confidence instead of apology
  • See opportunities in the crowd before they happen
  • Escalate without turning the room against you

Road set architecture

We’ll shape your act so it survives:

  • Unpredictable crowds and late shows
  • Longer road sets that need pacing
  • Clubs that want you back because you crush

Clips, tags & persona

Dial in:

  • Clippable moments that actually get booked
  • Tags that keep bits stacking laughs
  • A persona that feels like you, just weaponized

WHO THIS IS FOR

You don’t need a Netflix special. You need to kill the room you’re in.

  • Open mic comics who want to stop bombing when the crowd talks back
  • Working comics building a tighter, meaner, more professional road set
  • TikTok/IG/YouTube comics who want their crowd work clips to actually convert to tickets
  • Actors, writers, or podcasters stepping into stand-up and need a fast, honest education

If you’re precious, defensive, or just looking for compliments—this is not for you. If you want to get dangerous onstage, we’ll get along.

What a typical session looks like

Sessions: 30 or 60 minutes • Location: Zoom or LA (Studio City) • Recording: You’re welcome to record the session for your own notes.

  • 5–10 min — Quick check-in on where you’re performing & what’s blocking you
  • 15–20 min — Watch a clip or run material live; Mike maps where the laughs die and why
  • 15–20 min — Rebuild: tags, angles, crowd work entries, and exits that protect your set
  • 5–10 min — Homework: reps to run before your next show and what to capture on video

BOOK A PRIVATE LESSON

Tell Mike where you’re at.
Get a session built around your next kill.

Fill this out with as much detail as you can—clips, where you’re performing, what’s frustrating you. You’ll get a direct reply with next available times, rate, and how we’ll structure your first session.

  • 1:1 only — no group classes
  • Spots limited to keep notes specific
  • Serious comics only (you don’t have to be famous, but you do have to care)

FAQ

Questions before you step into the lab?

If you’re unsure whether you’re ready, you probably are. Use the booking form to share where you’re at and we’ll figure out if it’s a fit.

How much do private lessons cost?

$50 for 30 minutes. $75 for one hour. In-person sessions are $10 extra for the room rental.

Do I need to be an experienced comic?

No. You just need stage time—or the commitment to start getting it. Mike works with comics who are grinding mics, working the road, or about to tape a special/album. The only requirement is that you’re coachable and serious about getting better.

Will we only work on crowd work?

Crowd work is a major focus, but not the only one. Sessions often blend crowd work, written material, persona, and how to turn chaos into clippable, bookable moments. If you want to focus purely on road set structure or bit-building, you can specify that.

Can I record the session?

Yes. You’re encouraged to record the session (audio or video) for your own notes, as long as it’s not shared publicly.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life and the road both happen. As long as you give reasonable notice (at least 2 hours), we’ll find a new time. No-shows may be charged, depending on the agreement we set when you book.
